The Party's Over - Risin To Risa Wrap up - Episode 12

Posted on Tue May 3rd, 2022 @ 3:44am by Commodore Tyler Malbrooke

Well I hope everyone had fun and achieved Jamaharon... Remember what happens on Risa stays on Risa lol...

This was just the mission that the Pioneer needed as we came out of the darkness that was the pandemic. In many ways we are still in that craziness, but at least on the Pioneer there is a return to some great writing and stories.

It seems that we have learned a lot about not only our characters but ourselves during this mission. Some have taken a step back to lesser roles, which allowed others to come to the forefront and shine. This is not a bad thing in the simming world it is always great to see everyone have a chance to shine.

This mission also saw new friends join the ship. That is always something great and something to be cherished. This ever expanding universe and family of ours. So, to those newcomers welcome aboard and to everyone thanks for being a part of this community and a connection in this ever separating world. Thanks for being a friend.

So that is enough of the misty eyed thank yous and heartfelt adoration. Suffice to say you all rock, but I rock most lol...

So without any gilding the lily and no further ado I give you the one, the only, awards... taps mic

Promotions

To start things off the Command Team and myself felt that a couple of promotions were in order.

b-o4.png
Rowena McGowen - Rowena has been with the Pioneer almost since it started in one position or another. As a member of the command team she has a hand in tempering my off hand reactions. She is one of the many lynchpins that holds this group of ours together, and the Pioneer would not be as good as it is without her. It is for these reasons and many more that I promote her to the rank of Lieutenant Commander with all of the rights and privileges therein.

t-o4.png
Alyssa Maren - Alyssa has been with the Pioneer for some time now. Since joining she has proven herself a fantastic writer and excellent addition to the Pioneer family. Since taking over the Science Department she has hit the ground running, and in the short time revealed a number of great additions to Pioneer's Science Labs and to the Pioneer as whole. Her writing is always interesting to read, and heartfelt. It is for these reasons and many more that I hereby promote her to the rank of Lieutenant Commander with all the rights and privileges therein.

Awards

personalmerit.jpg
Lieutenant Alyssa Maren - Captain's Personal Merit Award -"During this past mission we have learned more about Alyssa than almost any other character. She came aboard the Pioneer, refit a cargo bay, and rekindled a lost love. If this were not enough she also has completed a post with almost every member of the crew in this time. A true force to be reckoned with. Keep up the great work."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

XOAWARD.png
Lieutenant Commander Hermia O'Rourke - Executive Officer's Merit Award - "Aboard Pioneer, there's always plenty of reasons to hand out recognition. I'm proffering this award for the writer not only stepping up to take on Department Head for medical, but for the many voices they've brought to Pioneer over the years. Even though it's an XO's merit, I think I can also speak for the crew in thanking you."
-Major Cornelius Tremble-

2XO Merit.jpg
Lieutenant Commander Hermia O'Rourke - Second Officer's Award of Merit - "I would like to comment the good doctor for her involvement and commitment in this crew. She is always open to jump in where needed and always open for a talk. Thank you for being our doctor."
-Lieutenant Rowena McGowen-

crewschoice.jpg
First Lieutenant Edmund Merrick - Crew's Choice Award - "Edmund has been involved in a number of posts since joining the sim, getting to know the crew and the ship. The posts have been a lot of fun to read, too."
-Lieutenant Alyssa Maren-

"Their posts are always well written and engaging. I believe them to be a vital part of the sim and story telling process on board. I am also a good friend of this person and believe their personality and nature bring positivity to the game. They have also brought in their partner to the game ;) even though it's too early for a Recruitment Award... they do deserve recognition for that."
-Master Sergeant Lachlan Barr-

"I love how they came in hit the ground running. They are active all around the crew and are an example of marines mingle with fleeters. We are seeing more and more of that. There has always been a bad rep between Marines and fleets. Many sims are in the process of breaking and love how this crew member is doing their best to give their contribution. With a marine as a First officer, his work is now more needed than ever to help run the marines. Thank you for your service!"
-Lieutenant Rowena McGowen-

newcomer.jpg
First Lieutenant Edmund Merrick - Meritorious Newcomer Award - "For their willingness to jump into posts and get to know the rest of the crew. And for the great writing."
-Lieutenant Alyssa Maren-

"Merrick's writer has really made themselves active since their arrival aboard Pioneer. They've written with most if not all of the crew and really introduced us to his character. I look forward to seeing how the character grows."
-Major Corenlius Tremble-

"The Marine XO joined the sim and hit ground running. They have made their presence known with a number of posts with most of the crew. As well as within the Discord channel. A great addition to our Pioneer family and a great writer. Thanks for joining the sim and keep up the great work."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

npc.jpg
Lieutenant Commander Katherine Malbrooke - Non-Player Character Award - "Focusing on Even Captain's Need Shore Leave, I'm nominating K. Malbrooke in this because developing characters is always more fun when you have someone else to write with. In this case, Katherine's write worked with the Captain in writing a really good post that opened up the relationship between the two characters in an environment away from the ship. NPC's are an important part of a SIM in adding more voices, differing points of view and even some drama. Nicely done."
-Major Cornelius Tremble-

friendship.jpg
Major Cornelius Tremble & Staff Warrant Officer Mira Jayna - Friendship Ribbon - "For the great series of posts that built a friendship with our XO. Who knew that much could happen on Risa... LOL"
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

"For a creative and entertaining friendship built during shore leave on Risa. The island retreat was well-designed as the backdrop to the series of posts."
-Lieutenant Alyssa Maren-

departmentcommand.jpg
Master Sergeant Lachlan Barr - Departmental Service Badge: Command - "This is being awarded for all the work that they have done behind the scenes. As a member of the Command Team of the Pioneer Lachlan helps keep the sim moving and sheds some light in areas that we may not normally see in a story. Thanks for keeping me sane..."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke

departmentsciences.jpg
Sergeant Azure Thompson - Departmental Service Badge: Science - "Azure was instrumental in helping keep the vegetables separated while putting together the garden cube--and instructing the others on proper gardening techniques when planting vegetables and medicinal plants. The new garden will flourish because of her watchful care. She also helpled make the post interesting and informative."
-Lieutenant Alyssa Maren-

outstandingvolunteer.jpg
Lieutenant Rowena McGowen - Outstanding Volunteer Award - "The past few months have presented some issues for our Second Officer in their personal life. However, they still found time to check in and make sure the sim was doing well. They also hit their tags and managed to participate in posts and on the Discord. Maintaining involvement while your personal life is taking your time is no small feat. So Thank you for being a part of this community."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

professionalmerit.jpg
Lieutenant Junior Grade Lunara Hol - Professional Merit Award - "This interlude on Risa presented a great opportunity for a series of posts where our Counselor did, well, some counseling. From getting a Cadet to start to overcome their brainwashing to helping a crew member interpret a dream. It is enjoyable to see what ticks in the minds of this crew. Keep up the great work Counselor, lord knows we all need some help."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

humor.jpg
Lieutenant Elen Diari - DeForest Kelly Humor Award - "Our very own blonde bombshell in engineering adds a hefty dose of humor and mirth to their posts. Even serious posts have a small amount of wit and sarcasm. Having someone like this on a sim is extremely important and we can't always have the mood be somber and filled with anxiety. Having someone to lighten the mood and and add some comic relief is always refreshing. Keep up the great work and thank you."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

COM.png
Lieutenant Alyssa Maren - Character Of The Month: April - "For giving us an inside look at her character and the ever expanding Science Department. Great Work and I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

"Alyssa's writer has really been active this month. I think we've come to know Alyssa a lot better and they've done an outstanding job speaking the Science department with lots of ideas."
-Major Cornelius Tremble-

SCOM.png
First Lieutenant Edmund Merrick - Support Character Of The Month: April - "For engaging almost everyone in a post as soon as they arrived. Add to that the assistance in connecting some loose plot points behind the scenes. Equals a person well deserving of this award."
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

POW1.png
Captain Tyler Malbrooke & Lieutenant Commander Katherine Malbrooke - Outstanding Post Ribbon - "I'm nominating Even Captain's Need Shore Leave for Outstaning Post this time around for several reasons. At it's heart, it's simply a really well written post that opens up more of Tyler's life and builds the characters really well. Because it's a post about Tyler and Katherine, it interweaves their story and helps us know them. Nicely done."
-Major Cornelius Tremble-

100posts1.png
Lieutenant Commander Hermia O'Rourke, Lieutenant Alyssa Maren, Master Sergeant Lachlan Barr - 100 Post Ribbon - "For achieving the milestone of 100 posts with the Pioneer... Keep up the great work"
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

200posts.png
Lieutenant Alyssa Maren, Major Cornelius Tremble, Captain Tyler Malbrooke - 200 Post Ribbon - "For achieving the milestone of 200 posts with the sim... Wow great work"
-Captain Tyler Malbrooke-

Risin To Risa has seen more crew changes than any other mission on the Pioneer. We have had some people leave us and others join, and even others simply change positions on the ship. Some may see this as a problem for the sim, but I see it as a great thing. The world is ever changing, people's circumstances are ever changing and so our sim should be ever changing. So to those who have left us I wish a fond farewell, and they should know that the door is always open to return to this community, in fact I hope that they will return. To those who have just joined us welcome to our simming community and family. New friendships lead to newest undiscovered countries.

But that is enough with the sappiness (lol)... Suffice to say that all of you rock out hard, but I rock the hardest. No seriously... You all are fantastic people and I think you for being here.

The next mission takes us back to the ambiguous race that we met: The Jutrai. It seems that a number of feet from various races including human has washed up on the shores of one of their colonies. No one seems to know how or why this is happening, and so the Pioneer is sent to investigate. Our new Security Chief has his work cut out for him as he leads the investigation into this mysterious happening. The game is definitely afoot (see what I did there) in Episode 13 - Crooked River

As always I am humbled by your writing and your faith in my stories.

For Now
Steady As She Goes,
Captain Tyler Malbrooke
Commanding Officer, USS Pioneer
