Mission: The Ties That Bind - Empok Nor Episode 2
Location: Counseling Office
Timeline: MD005 1315 hrs

"What are you intentions?" Elloma asked, as she just walked into the office of Jack Smith. She was a little annoyed to get a lecture from her sister, about crushes trying to hit on her. Which only irrated Elloma, because she did not really have a vested interest in Jack at this stage. So she wondered, what he was trying to do. She already had a lot on her plate, she did not need to deal with the petty games of Jack Smith and her little sister.

Jack looked up at her, sitting back in his chair. “Come on in and have a seat.” He said with wry humor. “I am afraid you have me at a disadvantage. What are you talking about?”

"I am not hear for one of your phsyco babble sessions." Elloma said, in a defense tone. "I prefer to stand, and you know what this is out. Nassie Essu, my sister." Elloma said, wondering why he was trying to play head games.

“What about her?” Jack frowned. She appeared to be angry. He wondered what had happened because it seemed it was him she was upset with but then what was new?

"Are you trying to hit on my sister, to make me jealous?" Elloma flat out asked. Art this stage, she had no romantic interest in him, but seeing how this was going. It was not helping her to grow any attractions to him.

Jack blinked. “Hit on your sister?” He shook his head. “I wasn’t hitting on her. At least that wasn’t your intention she obviously read more into it than what was there.”

"She is very upset, and called me to complain. Not sure why, we are not an item. I do not appreciate getting involved in your love triangles." Elloma suggested to him. She felt that he owed her an apology.

“I am not involving you in anything,” Jack said calmly. “I stopped to speak to her and offered a hand on the job she was doing and I believe she took an act of friendship the wrong way.” He looked directly at her. “I have respected your wishes and left you alone.”

"But then went after my sister, how is that leaving me alone?" Elloma asked him, not letting him off the hook that easily.

“For friendship,” Jack countered. “Are you saying that friendships shouldn’t be allowed?” He shook his head. “Honestly, I am not interested romantically in your sister.”

"Then what type of head game are you playing with her. Because she is my little sister, and I will not allow you to hurt her." Elloma proclaimed.

“I was just being friendly,” Jack sighed. “Is there some rule about not having friendships I don’t know about!”

"Flirting with my sister, is not being friendly. I seriously question if your motives were based on friendship only." Elloma said, in a defensive tone.

“I wasn’t flirting,” Jack knew his voice held irritation. “She may have read it that way but it wasn’t intentional.” He paused. “I don’t even think of her that way.”

"I can assure you, that your advancements are not welcomed with Nassie." Elloma pointed out to him.

“Since I have no advancements intended,” Jack returned. “I am good to hear that.” He looked at her. “Honestly I am not looking for anything with her.”

"You dont have to convince me, you need to convince her." Elloma suggested to him.

“Since I believe I will make it my mission to avoid her it won’t be necessary.” Jack responded.
“It isn’t like we are bound to cross paths.”

"This station is not as big as you think it is. Avoiding her, is not helping anything. It will only prolong everything." Elloma pointed out to him.

“Prolong what,” Jack growled. “I didn’t do anything wrong and yet I am supposed to apologize for something I didn’t do.”

"How narrowed minded of you. To think the opions of others, especially my sister do not matter." Elloma said, getting very defesive that he was trying to pass it off.

“I didn’t say her opinions don’t matter,” Jack sighed. He shook his head. “I honestly did not believe I was doing that but I will apologize anyway if it will make her feel better.”

"That would be a good start, but you should be careful how you word things. As a therapist, you know how dangerous words can be." Elloma pointed out to him.

“Yes I do,” Jack nodded in agreement. He was going to apologize and then avoid both of them. They had some issues in his mind.

Elloma doubted his sincerity. "Question is, how do you solve this, particular issue." Elloma asked him, feeling like she was a therapist, and he was the dumbass patient, that needed to see what he was doing was wrong.

“I need to be cautious when speaking to women,” Jack replied. “I already have a plan.”

"This should be good." Elloma said to him, giving him a stern look. Would have the courage to tell her, the plan hear and now.

Jack sighed .”It is quite clear to me that I am one of those men who has problems expressing himself to women. It may be better if I just kept to myself.” He held up a hand. “I am serious about this, we aren’t all silver tongued with just the right words to say.”

"I think that is the first honest thing you have said." Elloma said, noticing his body posture and laungage seemed legit and honest.

“I am not a liar,” Jack responded. “But given this conversation I will apologize and everyone will be happy.”

Elloma thought to herself. 'That was short lived.' As she looked to Jack, and simply shook her head. "That's a good start." She said wondering how long Jack would be holding onto his ego.

“It is all I can do,” Jack said quietly. “Accept I was wrong, make it right and move on.”

"Ya, that is true." Elloma said, as she looked to Jack. "I would suggest sooner versus later." She pointed out to him.

“I will seek her out before the day ends,” Jack replied. “And apologize.”

"Good, I think I am done here." Elloma said, as she got ready to leave. The Scene starts to fade away.

Jack was thinking it was a good thing as well. Before he said something to set her off again. “Have a good day.” Was all he said as he went back to work.
