Mission:
Episode 6 - Old Habits Die Hard
Location: Ó Flannagáin Quarters
Timeline: MD006 1800 hrs
"Are there ever going to be other kids on this ship?" Enya asked her parents? She liked the ship, but it was clearly missing kids. It needed kids, Enya wanted friends.
"That's a good a question, maybe we can get your mom to ask the Captain?" He said with a wink in his eye. He knew he would get slack from Ameri on that. He was only teasing, when he said, his wife should ask the captain. That was something more inline for Quinn to address with Tyler.
Quinn was setting up the sorry board, for the three of them to play. It was family night. A ritual that Quinn loved, family game night was his favorite night.
Ameri laughed. “I believe you grounded me from his office,” she said with a laugh. “Except for official business.” She winked at Enya. “I think your father is afraid I may hurt him.”
"Your Momma is a good woman." Quinn said, as he started to lean in for a kiss. He could sense that Enya was getting annoyed with his affection for his wife.
"Eww, really guys?" Enya asked. She tried to ignore them. In some ways she was happy for them, but in other ways she was bored and lonely. No one for her to hang out with. Other than her parents. The last thing she wanted to see, was parents making out.
“What can we do?” Ameri asked her. “I hate to see you unhappy.” If only there was someone else her age on the ship or close to it.
"You can start, by not grossing me out!" Enya said with an annoyed look on her face. She could not believe Mom just asked that question in front of her.
Ameri sighed, looking over at Quinn. She would try to curb her show of affection for Quinn but it wouldn’t be easy. She loved him so damn much. “It is what two people who love each other do.” She explained.
"Well said Momma." Quinn said, as he continued to hug Ameri. "Someday you will meet the right one, hunny." Quinn said, as he looked to Enya.
"Maybe, but that will not be today." Enya said, as she looked to her mother ,and then at her father.
“I will try to be better about your feelings,” Ameri said. “If you try to accept that It is us expressing our love for one another. Deal?”
"No." Said Enya with a grin, as she walked into her closet size room. She shut the door, and turned on a program to watch. She had a big smile on her face.
"You know, she is messing with us, right?" Quinn said, with a big grin on his face.
Ameri rolled her eyes and laughed softly. “She has your sense of humor” she looked towards her door. “I do think she is bored though. What can we do?”
"Give her time, lets set the table, she will be out in a moment." Quinn said, as she walked over to the table, and got ready to play a game of cards.
“I am going to wipe the floor with you,” Ameri grinned. “I have been practising.”
"Maybe, but Enya is twice the card player than we are." Quinn said loudly, as he started to shuffle the deck, as loudly as he could.
"Yes I am." Enya said, as she walked out of her room and took a seat, as they started to play Uno.
“I have a rule,” Ameri looked from Quinn to their daughter. “No ganging up on me.”
"Now that's not fair Mom, you and Dad always gang up on me, with all this kissing you both like to do." Enya said, as she looked to her father, to back her up.
"I'm no here to start any trouble." Quinn grinned, he winked over to Enya, letting her know he would help her.
Ameri sighed. “I am watching you Quinn!”
"I hope so baby, a decade later and were still checking each other out." Quinn said. As the scene starts to fade.
"No dad, never say that again, just no." Enya said, as the scene starts to fade.
