Mission: Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: XO's Office
Timeline: MD005 0845 hrs

The security officer walked silently to the XO's office. The computer told her he was there, and she wanted to meet him before she let her sister know she was on board. She straightened her mustard-colored uniform and rang the door chime.

"Enter." Quinn called out, he looked at his schedule. He was not scheduled to meet anyone. He assume, someone was pressing his open door policy. A policy that he believed in strongly. Every member of the crew had that right.

The door opened and she walked in, pausing to bow, Vulcan-style. "Greetings. I am Mira Jayde, the new Assistant Chief Security Officer."

"Ah yes, your replacing Lieutenant Essu, she will be transferring to Empok Nor, you have big shoes to fill." Quinn said, with a big grin on his face. He motioned for the young Lieutenant JG to have a seat.

It was not the first time the lieutenant had to prove herself. She enjoyed a challenge. "I will do my best," she said calmly, sitting down across from the commander.

"Have you met Commander Myles yet?" Quinn asked, curious to get her input on her new commanding officer.

"Not yet. We keep missing each other," Jayde replied.

"I would suggest fixing that, if you keep missing him, let me know. I can order him to report to you." Quinn said, with a big grin on his face, and a small wink. He was teasing. He would never make a Chief report to his assistant. He was being more comical, than serious.

Jayde smiled at the humorous remark. "That will not be necessary. I have yet to begin stalking him in earnest," she replied with equal levity.

Quinn gave out a small chuckle. She had a sense of humor. Something the last assistant chief, seemed to be lacking. She was so serious. "I hate to cut this short, have a few more meetings to get too. Eager to start my shore leave, no doubt you are as well." Quinn said, as he stood up, and reached over to shake her hand.

She would rather get to work, but shore leave would give her a chance to spend time with her sister. It had been far too long. She shook his hand. "Thank you for your time, commander." She was grateful he'd given her this much time without an appointment.

"Anytime, dismissed and good luck to you." Quinn said, as he stood up to shake her hand, and walk her out the door. The scene starts to fade.
