Mission: Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: XO's Office - Deck 2 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD008 0845 hrs

Sofia had met the Captain, 'bumped' into a multi-colour haired woman in the hall and all this was before she'd settled in. She did however know that it would be nice to drop in on the XO and introduce herself. As indicated by the computer, he was in his office.

Sofia didn't know much about him, apart from that he'd brought a family on board which had a little girl. She smiled at the thought of a more familial Starfleet but didn't know how it would work. Ringing the bell she waited, reading one of her PADDs with interest.

"Enter." Called out Quinn, thinking to himself. When will he get to go on shoreleave? Most of the crew, to include his family were on shore leave. He agreed with Tyler, to meet most of the crew. They did this in the hope, when they got their new mission, they would not need to focus on the new crew assignments.

Quinn smiled, as he looked to his monitor. He noticed this officer, was the captain's yeoman. He thought to himself, well this is going to be fun. The captain to the best of his knowledge, had not had a yeoman.

"Hi sir, I'm Crewman Sofia Cipriani, the Captain's Yeoman. I was just coming by to let you know I was on board and if you need anything I'm sure I can do whatever you want." she said with an innocent smile. He was a handsome man but then again there were a lot of them on this ship it seemed.

"Can you tell me why the Captain need a Yeoman?" Quinn asked her with his big beautiful smile. Then he went on. "And why you are the right choice for the job?" He asked in a heart warm sympathetic tone. His demeanor and tone, may have been nice. But his question was very direct.

His question caught her off guard. On the one hand he asked it with a large welcoming smile but the directness of it threw her. "Eh well sir from what I was told from superiors they think the Captain could use an extra hand with administrative duties as his role expands here." She said trying to muster up the courage within her. "And I'd say I'm the best for the job because I was the best in my class, I put in extra hours even though he doesn't know that, I care about what I do and don't want to let anyone down."

"Being a yeoman, can be a big sacrifice. The hours are brutal, and the work is often sensitive and classified. You will not be able to discuss it with anyone, outside of your chain of command. Do you really feel you are up for the task?" Quinn said, offering her one last chance to withdraw her name.

"I do sir, yes. The Captain seems hesitant at my assignment here but I think he'll warm to me once he gets to know me." Sofia said with a smile.

"The Pioneer, has been through a lot, and once you get familiarized with the material, you will understand why." Quinn said, to her. Debating if she should congratulate her, or apologize to her. Things from this point forward, would be an interesting challenge for her.

"I plan on doing that sir. I cant imagine what the crew has been through, but I'll help where I can. As I said if there's anything I can do for you, just name it. Anything at all." She said rather solemnly.

"Were good, as long as you understand the risk of the position, and willing to take them on. Then all I have to say is, Welcome to the Pioneer. And don't be a stranger at After 11's." Quinn said with a big smile, as she stood up, to shake her hand. And to tell her, without saying it, there time was almost up.

Sofia wasnt too sure what to make of what had just happened. Her job seemingly had became a lot more dangerous, or risky, than she had previously gave it thought. Still she would go about her role as she was planning too, she knew she was up to it. "I understand sir, and thank you. I look forward to getting to know everyone better." Sofia smiled at the After 11 comment, she already knew Chloe well enough and she had a little internal laugh at that.

Noticing he had left his hand hanging out she took it gently and gave it a little shake. "So nothing you need from me sir?" She asked knowing she'd soon be sent on her way.

"Not at the moment, but trust, I will take you up on that Ensign." Quinn said, as he started to walk her out the door. The scene fades away.
