"Seems like forever, since I was last over here." Kalina said, with a big nervous smile on her face. She had just seem him earlier today in his quarters, plus the wedding.

Now was the real moment for them. This was the time they agreed to meet, and try to see if they had a bond. She was not sure, but part of her hoped they did. Part of her, hoped they did not. She did not want the program to be right.

“It does,” Zaire said with a nervous smile .”Please, come in.” He moved out of the way for her to enter.

"Thanks, what did you think of the wedding?" Kalina asked, as she decided to make a little small talk with him. She was a little nervous, and was trying to unwind a little.

“It was nice,” Zaire said with a smile. “They obviously care a lot about each other and they have a lot of friends.”

"It was very alien to me, but your right it was nice. Just not use to seeing so many people clothed at a wedding." Kalina pointed out to him, thinking to herself, how strange that felt to her.

“I know what you are saying,” Zaire agreed. “It was different. I don’t know if I would want that many.”

"Your kidding right?" Kalina asked, she knew there wedding would be over the top, her aunt would be hosting it and paying for it, and she anticipated a big turn out.

Zaire grinned at her. “It was nothing compared to those who will be at ours. I want our wedding to be what you and I want and if it’s a million people I will deal with it.”

"Good, cause knowing my auntie, it could very well be." Kalina said, feeling a little anxious too about the prospect of that many people all looking at her.

“I kind of thought so,” Zaire confessed. “Considering she is an Ambassador. We can’t really tell her no.”

"We can, but we would regret it." Kalina said, with a slight chuckle to her tone. She was trying to be humorous.

“Hey we can invite whoever she wants then,” Zaire murmured with a smile. “I am not making her mad.”

"Might be a good idea, she can be a real pain." Kalina said in a graceful manner. She knew how nasty her auntie could be. And how flexible, he was willing to be.

“She got me transferred here,”’Zaire said with a smile. “I owe her a lot for that.”

"That's one way of looking at it." Kalina said, with a warm hearted smile on her face. And sweet of him to say.

“I believe we were meant to be here,” Zaire said to her with a smile. He hoped she felt the same.

"I believe that's what my Auntie believes." Kalina said, with a big grin on her face. She was trying to be funny. She was not ready to cave in completely, and say it was destinty.

“I am sold,” Zaire said honestly. “I know you still have doubts but I am never going to be dishonest about my feelings.”

"Sold on what exactly is the real question here." Kalina wait out damn, and she really didn't know what she was sold on either so it wasn't really a fair question for either of them all she knew is how she felt at this moment, and she felt really happy and she felt needed and special.

“On our compatibility,” Zaire replied. “It isn’t the whole thing I know, we still have a ways to go but I just feel like this is
"I hope it does, you seem very sweet. And I would be lying if I said, I did not feel a spark with you." Kalina suggested to him, with a big grin on her face.

“See that is what I am talking about!” Zaire smiled at her. “A spark that makes me need to know you better!”

"I suppose, in its loosest definition. We have chemistry, a chance is far as I am willing to say, at this stage." Kalina said, with a big grin on her face. She admired his passion, but she was not ready to jump off the deep end.

“A chance is more than you honestly wanted to give it though before,” Zaire said quietly. “You don’t want your Aunt to be right.”

"But if I did that, then I would not be fair to you or to both of our families." Kalina quickly pointed out to him.

“They made our choice for us,” Zaire said quietly. “Maybe it’s easier for me to accept because I knew it was going to happen for me. You thought you quick be able to choose.”

"I think we all know it could happen to any of us, we are after all Betazed." Kalina said, trying to come to grasp with her new founded reality.

“It was unexpected all the same,” Zaire admitted. “I assumed my parents would have told me.”

"All we can do is move forward, are you willing to do that with me?" Kalina asked, with a nervous smile on her face.

“Yes,” Zaire said confidently. “I want to see where this takes us, I am looking forward to it in fact.”

Kalina just grinned for a brief moment, thinking to herself, who was going to share first? She had no idea. "Do you want to share first, or should I?" Kalina asked.

“If you would go first,” Zaire murmured. “Please.” He was interested in what she would share with him.

Typical Betazed man, needing his woman to go first. To show him its going to be okay. Unlike human relationships, Betazed Females were the alpha's in the relationships. "I suppose I could do that." Kalina said, with a big grin. As she put her hands on his temples.

“I am honest if nothing else,” Zaire murmured. “You like being first with me, you know you do.” He felt her hands touch his temples and waited.

"You don't have to sell me on it." Kalina said, with a giggle on her face. She smiled at him, loving his honesty. But he needed to tone back on saying it. If she had a shot glass for every time he said, she would be drunk.

Zaire stared at her for a long moment and smiled. He was ready to see where they went from here with no more discussion. He wanted to see what she would share.

Kalina started to focus her thoughts, the next thing both of them saw was an image of a little blonde hair girl running around atypical Starfleet quarters room which happened to be her parents quarters on Starbase 900.

Zaire smiled as he saw the little girl, a younger Kalina. She looked happy and busy, he wondered if this was what she was like as a child, always doing something.

"Auntie, auntie." Cried out the little girl and excitement and enjoyment and she saw Krisna walking through her door. "You must promise me if I'm not married after my 21st birthday to find me a husband, I want to marry someone that is good as my dad." Little Kalina said with a big grin on her face.

Zaire felt drawn to this memory of Kalina’s, feeling like that was a pivotal moment for them, where she had put her future in her aunts hands. Then a little panicked when he realized he was filling her fathers shoes so to speak.

"little one little and little one, what are we going to do with you?" Krisna ask that she picked up little Kalina and put her in her arms and held her on her side. "You're almost getting too big to be picked up." Krisna suggested to Kalina.

"I wonder what he will be like?" Kalina asked, as she was drawn into her own little fantasy world, thinking about what her husband would be like in the future.

"I don't know little one but I'll tell you what, I will honor your request but only if we can find a husband that is compatible with you, after all little one you're a little more wild than your sister and your brother." Krisna said that she tickled the little girl in her ribs.

Kalina just giggled uncontrollably because her auntie was tickling her. 5-year-old Kalina really loved her auntie.

Zaire could feel the love between Kalina and her aunt and it filled him. He grinned at her aunt saying she was wild. Kalina looked like a sweet little girl, a feeling of longing for one like her hit him.

"Auntie I am serious." Little Kalina said, as she stared her auntie in the eyes. She fantazied what it would be like to be married. In her eyes, there was a lot of playing, and late night walks, along with someone to talk too.

There was a need in Zaire to live up to all of that little girls dreams, to give Kalina what she wanted now and as a young girl.

"I know you are little one. However your older self will tell me, she does not want me to interfere." Krisna pointed out to Kalina.

"If I am not married by 21, I will need help, by then I will be an ambassador, like you." Little Kalina said, with a big grin on her face.

For Zaire this just showed him how much more they were meant to meet and give this a chance. She might have been a little girl but she had chosen this path.

"you think this is a sign for us to be together?" Kalina asked a little surprised. She could read his thoughts.

“I think it is a sign that somewhere inside of you,” Zaire replied cautiously. “You wanted to be married and you believed in our way of life.” He took a deep breath. “I believe that your memory is a sign that your aunt was supposed to find you a mate and that was me.” He wasn’t going to back off on what he felt she already knew anyway.

"At the age of 5?" Kalina asked very skeptical in nature of his response. She was not feeling his connection there. She just young dumb, and fantasying a fairy tale romance. She knew the real world, was not that easy.

“You don’t have to believe in it,” Zaire said calmly. “I choose to however, maybe that makes me naive but I do.”

"What do you believe, when it comes to us?" Kalina asked, curious to hear what his response was going to be.

“I believe that we have the starting of the kind of marriage most people wish they had,” Zaire replied. “We have connected and the spark is there and if we move forward I believe it will become more.”

"Well that is mostly true." Kalina said, with a grin. She was more realistic than he day dreaming counter part. She could tell that he had a lot of hope and dreams, it was sort of cute. "The more time we spend together, one of two things will happen. The more we will like each other, or the more we will grow to despise each other." Kalina said, with a serious look on her face.

“I am more of a positive person,” Zaire said, serious as well. “If for some reason it doesn’t work, I hope it won’t be a case of hating each other.” He frowned wondering if she thought in the back of her mind she didn’t like him.

"In any case, we will be married. It would be easier, if we liked each other." Kalina pointed out to him.

“I haven’t seen anything I don’t like,” Zaire replied. “That isn’t to say there may be things we don’t see eye to eye on but I like you for the most part.”

"For the most part, what's there not to like?" Kalina asked, getting a little defensive. She could not help it.

“There isn’t anything,” Zaire shook his head. “But if I said you were perfect you would call me on it.” His eyes met hers. “You are looking for honestly not for me to kiss up to you.”

"You think you got me pegged huh?" Kalina asked with a big grin on her face.

“On that I know I do,” Zaire replied with confidence. “You aren’t interested in flowery words with no meaning. You want things honest and open.”

"Don't we all want that?" Kalina asked, hoping she was not the only one who would want that. She imamgined that he would want that as well. But it was better to ask.

“I know I do,” Zaire murmured. “I would hope most people would but their is always an exception.”

"This is the guy I want to see more of. Not a kiss up, not a person who will agree with everything I say, but a person I can have a conversation with." Kalina said, with a big grin on her face. She was liking this version of Ziare.

“I would hope I am not some yes person,” Zaire said with a smile. “That is not me at all.”

"Good." Kalina said, with a big grin on her face, as the scene starts to fade away.

Zaire smiled back at her and it spread into a grin. He had hopes for them .
