Location: Deck 9 - Armory - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD001 1400 hrs

Lan was in the armory doing so weapon inspections. She was holding a phaser rifle pointing it at the entrance as her sister walked.

Nhi held up her hands and said, "Please don't shoot, I didn't do it, I swear. Or at least I think."

Lan pulled the powerbank out of the rifle and put it back on the rack. She said in a calm voice, "Are you implying you have done something that I should be aware of, Ensign?"

Nhi chuckled, "Come on, sister, have some humor, you are always so serious." She straightened her face to look like her sister before bursting out in laughing as she couldn't keep a straight face.

The Chief of the boat tried her best to suppress a sigh. "As I have told you many times, Ensign, I am Vulcan, but if I were to indulge my human side, just like you always seem to do...there is such a thing as a time and a place. Also while in uniform and on duty, I think we should address each other with our proper rank. Calling me sister is informal for this situation."

As Lan turned around to get another rifle from the rack, Nhi pulled a funny face as she mover her hand as a mouth. She then said, "Very well, Chief, if you say so." And she added more quiet, "Party pooper."

"What was that, Ensign?" Lan turned around putting a rifle in her hands. "And do not lie, these ears work just as good as yours."

"Eh...sorry, chief." She took the rifle and looked at it questioning, "What am I suppose to do with this? You're the master at arms."

"Clean it," Lan said calmly, "And the rest of them too, and check their power cells and replace any faulty ones. They did teach you that at the academy, right?"

"Bu...but...why? I am sure there is something else I can do. I will go talk to Commander Myles or Lieutenant Mira." She wanted to put the rifle back on the rack, but her sister stopped her.

"Ensign, you did not really think when you walked out of the academy things would be easy, now did you?" Lan said calmly. Every security officer needs to do this. It is not just about standing guard or firing phasers at enemies. This is Starfleet, not the play hall." She then straightened her back and said in a sterner voice, "Clean the rifles, Ensign, I will be checking on your work. That is an order."

Nhi raised her eyebrow at her sister. "Who..."

Lan just interjected, 'You are on the roster for Armory duty, by order of Commander Myles. Why else did you think you were here, tea and cookies with the master at arms? Now cleans those rifles."

Nhi muttered a little and then took a cloth and pulled the power cell out and started to clean as she said, "Yes, chief."

Not phased Lan continued her inspection and then said in a softer tone, "Now please restrain yourself, but if you finish your chores we could go for those tea and cookies." She looked over to Nhi and said softly, "Sister."

Nhi grinned and whispered softly to herself, "Yes!"
