The year 2018 has been a great one here on the Pioneer. There has been some great stories that we told together, and I think the best is yet to come. Let's make 2019 even better.

We are starting this year off with some great additions. We have added to our crew in last two months and they are integrating into the story fantastically. Our site has a new redesign which is going to reflect the stories that are planned. The Pioneer is going to be caught in a war, one that the Federation wants no part of. We also got new rank images, and some new general imagery on the site. So our web home is looking better than ever. However, I think the best thing that occurred here on the Pioneer is the community grew and bonded. Not only are our characters coming together as a family but we as people are as well. For that I am deeply appreciative for.

So to start this off I wanted to say that on behalf of the Command Quartet here on the Pioneer Happy New Year. May 2019 be happy, healthy and prosperous.

Normally we do awards at the end of missions, however, I felt that a special edition was in order.

So without any gilding the lily and no further ado I give you the rewards.

Promotions

Larim Myles - Larim (Rich) had been with the Pioneer just about since the ship was created. He has been and valuable addition running the Security/Tactical Department. I most impressed with how he overcomes. There was a time when Larim fell behind, and I watched him pick himself up, dust himself off and add to this sim in ways that I did not think of. His posts about the old west holo-program is especially notable and creative. It is for these reasons and many more that I promote him to the rank of Lieutenant Commander with all of the rights and privileges therein. I expect some big things from you and look forward to seeing them.

Dana Wakefield - Dana (Matt) initially joined the Pioneer with an interesting character concept. An Admiral's daughter, similar to Tom Paris. Except here Dana wanted to keep who her dad was a secret. Since joining I have watched this character grow from this basic idea into a full fledged person. One that is uniquely interesting. Dana has also contributed to a number of posts and started to organize the Pioneer's troubled Operations Department. Ops can be a hard place to write but you would not know that watching Dana's contributions. It is for these reasons and many more that I promote her to the rank of Lieutenant with all of the rights and privileges therein. Keep up the great work...

Awards

And now for some end of year Awards. These are all well deserved, but I would like to take a moment to say that everyone on this crew gives their best. However, when one goes above and beyond one should be recognized.

Command Senior Chief Petty Officer Andrew Moore - Captain's Personal Merit Award - "For the end of the year Captain's Merit I feel Andrew Moore is the most deserving. Not only does Andrew run his own ship, and write the character of Moore here, but he is also the Task Group CO for 47A. With all of that on his plate he still finds time to participate as a member of the command team of this ship. His insight especially when it comes to enlisted characters has been invaluable to me. His writing is top notch and he has a flair for putting his own spin on combat posts. I for one will never forget his introduction to the ship in general. I look forward to seeing what he has in store for us in the coming year."

Lieutenant Dana Wakefield - Executive Officer's Merit Award - "Out of 33 characters currently assigned to the USS Pioneer, a few officers shined at the top of my list. Leading the pack at this time is Lieutenant Dana Wakefield. She has over 21 mission posts, since joining the USS Pioneer. Despite being a busy holiday season, she managed to get out three mission posts. She is a shinning example of a great writer. Her posts are a delight to read, and can not wait to see what she brings for the rest of 2018 and the upcoming year of 2019."
-Commander Quinn Ó Flannagáin-

Commander Quinn Ó Flannagáin - Crew's Choice Award - "Albeit new to the XO role Jay has thrown himself into it and also created two NPC familial characters to go along with his XO character. His jovial nature on Discord makes it a delight to be a part of and he has brought this further with his newest additions. He even has time to still play his other NPCs of Rockwell and Essu with great skill and imagination. I believe we would be a much duller and lifeless place without him and that is why I nominate him for this award. :) He has the Pioneering Spirit if ever there was one!"
-Lieutenant Amelia Zano Psy.D.-

friendship.jpg
Second Lieutenant Cornelius Tremble - Friendship Ribbon - "Cornelius Tremble's character is fun to read about. His friendship with Jennifer Masters and truly deserving of this award. There posts together show great chemistry. He is eager and always willing to with anyone, on the USS Pioneer. He is a great asset to the sim"
-Commander Quinn Ó Flannagáin-

Warrant Officer Jennifer Masters - Friendship Ribbon - "Jennifer Masters Character is very open and friendly character, and truly deserving of this award. Her posts are fun to read. Her friendships in character and out of character, help keep writers active and engaged on the USS Pioneer. She is a great asset to the sim. Her posts with Second Lieutenant Cornelius Tremble are incredible, and with the other marines and her intelligence staff."
-Commander Quinn Ó Flannagáin-

Lieutenant Commander Larim Myles - Professional Merit Award - "I would like to nominate Larim for this award. He is eagerness to write, and willingness to work with anyone. is awesome. Richard has over 46 mission posts with USS Pioneer, with a lot of those posts being a join post, his teamwork and dedication is deserving of this award."
-Commander Quinn Ó Flannagáin-

Warrant Officer Jennifer Masters - Outstanding Post Ribbon - "I would like to nominate the post titled Mr Tumnus visits Intel. This post sheds a little bit of light on something not often seen in Star Trek. Quite simply regular life, this isn't a heroic post it is just a woman and cat."
