Mission: Episode 13 - Crooked River
Location: Operations Center - Deck 6 - USS Pioneer
Timeline: MD003 1000 hrs

Xoan walked the corridors of the unfamiliar vessel. Looked at the unfamiliar faces. He felt alone. He knew that Mercy had been assigned here too, so at least there was someone he knew, but she'd probably be spending her time with her fellow Marines.

Thex was in her small office going over the reports and files she needed to fill out for the upcoming operation. Getting an aquatic drone at this short notice was taking some bending to do.

Xoan finally found his new Boss's office and activated the chime.

"Enter." Thex said warmly looking up from her desk.

Xoan did so. "Chief Petty Officer Xoan Rocha reporting for duty, Ma'am." He said.

"Welcome aboard Xoan. Please take a seat and please just call me Thex." Thex said gesturing to the empty seat.

"Thank you, m...I mean Thex." He said and took the offered chair. "Sorry, my previous boss was a bit of a stickler for proper procedure." He added.

"Well, i'm not her." Thex replied calmly. "You just arrived?" She inquired.

"Yes, Thex." Xoan said. "I came aboard while the crew were on shoreleave."

"So your just like me then. I was free diving in a Risian volcano." Thex replied with a grin. " So tell me about yourself Xoan." She replied calmly.

"I love puzzles, so enlisted in Starfleet as a data analyst. In 2381 I was recruited by SI and they taught me cryptanalysis, something that matched my skills and mindset. I'm not much of a fighter, but I have experience with Klingon, Romulan and Cardassian computer languages and their encryption techniques." Xoan said.

"I did some work for intelligence myself." Thex responded as she leaned back in her chair with a grin.

"Really?" Xoan asked. "Anything you can talk about?"

"Not much. Quite a bit is still classified. Let's just say it involved me doing my best to keep Orion eyes on me." She replied with a smirk as she hummed one of her favourite dancing tunes.

"I can imagine." Xoan said.

"Still onto work in the fleet. How good are you are sorting the supplies out?" Thex inquired

"I don't know, but I'll give it a try." Xoan said.

"Well let's go and take a look." Thex said standing up and heading for the door. Looking back over her head she gave a warm "coming?"

"Yes, Thex." Xoan said and followed her out of the room.

"Now." Thex said as she handed him a PADD from her trouser pocket." We need to make sure everything on the list has been delivered so we can let engineering install the aquatic drone."

Xoan accepted the PADD and read it. He then began locating the components on the list.

Thex nodded as she headed off to look for half of the needed gear.

"The list says calls for a Mark 4 environmental unit, but I can only find two Mark 2 units." Xoan said.

"The USS Chicago said they sent them over. I bet those idiots have put them in the wrong boxes." Thex said beginning to look over the list and what else had been sent over.

Xoan looked through some more crates and the contents matched the list until he came to a container which was supposed to contain an ion generator, but was instead filled with self-sealing stem bolts, emitter crystals, and what appear to be green discharge crystals.

"Lieutenant, have we done something to offend the Chicago's Chief Operations Officer?" He asked. "Because some of this stuff don't match our list or what's on the containers themselves."

" Not to my knowledge but someone's getting on my bad side. " Thex said as she opened a box of supposed medicle gear which was full of spare parts for EES suits.

"Maybe you should talk to the Chicago's CO." Xoan suggested as he continued his work.

" I will as soon as I work out what rubbish we've been stuck with. Someone needs a good ganrha. " She said sighing.

"Ganrha?" Xoan asked.

"It's an Orion dance." Thex explained." Ending with the recipient getting kneed hard in their genitals."

"Sounds painful, for the recipient anyway." Xoan said.

"It's meant to be. " Thex said with a sigh. " Can you start looking over what's here? I'll need to see where it was meant to have gone."

"Aye, ma'am." Xoan replied.

Thex nodded as she headed for the room's computer. She had a lot of work to do.
