Mission: Episode 14 - The Poseidon Adventure
Location: Marjani's Quarters - Poseidon Station
Timeline: MD013 1800 hrs

Connor was nervous. Logically, he knew that he probably should not be nervous, after all, Marjani had kissed him first, and at least more than once. Yet, he was. Having an official end with Holly was bittersweet. He should have known it had happened but his brain would not allow him to understand that things were over when they had not talked for a year. But he got to keep her as a friend and that was something. Besides, had not Zhara, Hermia, Marjani, and even that nutter, Paisley basically told him it was over or that he did not have a girlfriend? Other than Paisley, nobody had really led him astray, so, why should he be hesitating over hitting his commbadge?

Connor reached his hand toward his commbadge and stopped. What if she does not pick up? What if she's with someone else? What if she was just being nice? What if she says no?" Panic started to set in. However, as he sat himself down, his hand involuntarily hit the commbadge and it made the "open channel" sound. Really, body? You're conspiring against me too?

With the comm signal open, he squeaked, =^= Lieutenant Marjani Smith? Um, hi? =^=

"Marjani speaking" in the background there was the roar of a crowd and the distinct sound of a wooden baseball bat hitting something. Then there was a call of "Foul Ball!"

"Yo Marjani you're up next!" some said in the distance.

Marjani then exclaimed, "Pause program." Then there was silence.

"Hello, I've been called?" Marjani asked.

=^= Um, yeah, uh, hi. =^= Connor stammered.

Recognizing Connor's voice, her ultimate wizard. Marjani immediately answered back. "Connor, are you okay? Where are you and I'll come get you." Then he heard, "Computer save program, and close down." Marjani watching as the familiar grid pattern of the holodeck came to view. Marjani had been enjoying some time on the station before she headed back to work.

"Okay Connor, I have exited the holodeck on Poseidon Station. Where do you want me?" Marjani asked, part of her getting ready to get into a fight.

Where do you want me? EEP! That's um, rather forward! Oh, wait! She wants to meet somewhere. OK. Calm down, Connor. You can do this, can't you? I mean, can you pretend she's a computer? No? Damn. Strategy time.... Need a place to meet, right? Quarters would be too forward and oh, God, she can't come here! That would be really forward. She might well, expect things! Gah! What to do? What to do?

=^= I'm, um, well, I'm OK, I think, =^= the reply came back to Marjani. =^= Um, I'm, uh, in my quarters, but, um, can we, um, meet somewhere? =^= That's good thinking, Connor. You gave her the answer and now you're letting her make decisions as to place. You don't want to offend her.

"You are at your quarters, okay then." Marjani thought for a moment there were several areas she could meet him at. She checked the station's deck listings. "Uh, I have no idea where we can meet up. I don't want to get back on the Pioneer as of yet. And I have temporary quarters here. I don't want you to get in trouble with your girlfriend though, so that would be out of the question. Oh, I have a suggestion, the Observation Lounge, on level 158, we both can get there, its near the emergency transporters," Marjani stated. "Will that be okay by you?"

Not get me in trouble with my girlfriend? But I don't have one anymore. Well, you don't know that and that's really sweet for you to consider. And near emergency transporters sounds great. Then, if I make a fool of myself or herself, I can beam myself into space. =^= Yes, that's good. See you soon. =^=

Marjani didn't take time to change out of her baseball. The uniforms were form fitting but, not too tight either. Still though form fitting. She put her wooden bat, glove and ball against a wall and then waited for Connor to show up. She took her hat off and loosened her dark hair out of its braid, looking out towards the stars.

Connor had taken an extra few moments to check his hair and make certain that any stress was gone from his face. He succeeded on fixing the former, but the latter was an impossible task. He threw some water on his face, hoping that might help, and then dried it off. He was still in his duty uniform. Go now, before you can think and change your mind, he instructed himself.

When he got to the observation lounge, he might not have recognized Marjani in her baseball uniform; however, he knew her hair and that was unmistakeable. Hesitantly, he asked, "Mar-Marjani?" in his Briish accent. "Um, hi...."

Marjani had been lost in thought, her baseball cap being held in her hand, her elbows supported by the railing. Hearing his soft hesitant voice, Marjani turned around to gaze at Connor. "Hello Connor," noting his stance, his usual shyness. "Hey, what can I do for you?" she asked moving away from the rail and placing her baseball cap over the handle of her baseball bat. She re-adjusted her leather baseball mitt, to where the baseball was nestled a bit better. She didn't want her baseball to run amok.

Turning, Marjani looked once more to Connor. "Are you okay?" her brow furrowing with concern.

"Um, yes? No? Um, it is a bit complicated. Um, maybe we should sit? Have something to, um, drink." Noticing the baseball equipment he asked, "Cricket? No. that's wrong for a cricket bat. Baseball, then? Can't say I really understand that sport."

"I've played Cricket before. There are some similarities and maybe you can say Cricket is more of a genteel game whereas baseball is rougher. Both are great games to play." Marjani gave a nod to having a seat. "There is a replicator we can get a drink from. I think I will get a sparkling lemonade. How about you? What do you want to drink?" making her way to the replicator.

Holly told me to have a drink with her, but I didn't think as far as to figure out what to get for myself! Ack! Think, Connor. Drinks should not be so hard. "Um, tea. Um, Yorkshire black tea, with milk, please." Why can't my legs move? I should be getting it for her. She should be sitting. And isn't baseball a dead or dying game? She did say she liked old things....

Marjani got the drinks and came back to the table with them. She set Connor's drink in front of him and sat down with hers. "So, you are okay? Is everything alright with your girlfriend. Wasn't her name Holly?" Marjani having a kind smile. She took a sip of her drink.

Connor blew on his tea and then poured some milk into it. At the mention of Holly, his milk started to spread across the table towards Marjani. "Oh, God! Napkin. Where's a napkin?" He rushed to a replicator to get some.

Marjani was so startled by Connor's reaction she spilled her own drink down the front of her baseball jersey. "Wh-what is going on Connor." she looked down at herself seeing the liquid not only dripping down her front, it went down to her lap. "Oh boy. Um... Uh hey, Connor I need to get changed out of this, if you want to continue talking we're going to have to go to my temporary quarters here, for me to change into something dry. And I do want to continue this conversation."

Having just returned with the napkins, Connor's mouth hung open as he saw Marjani. "Bugger!" he uttered, completely mortified at what happened. He was so upset over the incident that it did not register that Marjani's uniform was wet in all the wrong or right places depending on one's point of view. "So sorry! Um, I'll carry your stuff. Sorry! Let me get it and let's get you fixed right away."

Marjani gave a nod, she walked over and grabbed her baseball cap and placed it on her head. "Yeah sure that sounds like a good plan." She definitely wanted a shower. A real shower with water. Once the mess was cleaned up, something that Marjani wasn't about to leave for someone else to do, she led Connor to the turbo lift and to her temporary quarters. At the door she paused to press the code for her room entrance, then stepped inside.

The room was like a small apartment. There was a living area, with a couch, a small table and a small kitchenette. There was a divider, which on the other side was the sleeping area. Beyond that was the bathroom area as well as a closet space for her to keep her clothing in. The place was actually neat and tidy, her flight uniform hung upon a hook which said Voodoo upon it, plus her shoes, and other clothing were neatly placed in cubby holes. Her go bag was upon a shelf as well. The shower was basically a combination tub and shower set up. Marjani wanted to have something she considered luxurious, being able to have a bath in real water was a luxury to her.

"Make yourself at home while I get cleaned up." Marjani said. "Oh, and you can put the bat, the ball and the mitt there," gesturing towards an area against the wall she had designated where they belonged. She slipped off her shoes and placed them in an empty cubby hole.

"I'm sorry," Connor cried out to Marjani as he put her belongings where she directed. "Not only did I interrupt your holo time but then, well, this mess...." He was not sure that she heard her, because his back was turned as he placed things away, but it made him feel a little better, at least until he realized that he was in Marjani's quarters. The immensity of that concept struck him and now being stuck, walked over to the couch and sunk into it.

Marjani, in the meantime, had drawn the privacy curtain closed, which separated the sleeping area from the living room area. "Look, it's okay, you obviously need to talk about something so, as I said, you call me and I'll come to you. I made that promise, earlier. I'll be back out in ten minutes or less." With that there was a moment of silence, then the sound of a door being closed, the one leading into the bathroom.

Waiting was probably the worst thing that could happen to Connor, because now he had time to think about his current predicament. Looking around, he tried to take in his environment. He actually was impressed with the clean environment. Good for computers, he thought to himself. But then the fear struck again. What am I doing here? She's showering in the other room. She's naked! And I'm in the room next door! This is just not appropriate! We're not dating! We aren't, are we?"

He got up, paced himself towards the kitchenette and sat in a chair, debating making a new cup of tea. Oh, that would be great, wouldn't it, Connor? Spill another cup of tea on her? With that thought, he made his way back to the couch and tried to wait without thinking too much, his right leg bobbing up and down nervously.

The door of the bathroom could be heard opening, Marjani was humming a quiet tune. A couple of minutes later, she stepped out, completely dressed in a pair of dark grey sweatpants, an oversized tee shirt with a red tank top beneath. Her feet were bare. She was toweling her hair dry. "Okay, so want something to drink or eat?" she went over and opened a small fridge which held some bottles inside. Some were sodas, others were alcohol. "I've got some sodas which are not replicated as well as an alcoholic drink. Do you still want your tea?" Marjani asked, having put her towel to one side to get herself a soda.

"Do you really think it is a good idea to drink anything with me, after, well, I caused that, um, mess?" Connor asked with a meek smile, as he hid his face from Marjani's direct view.

"I'll take my chances, and I have plenty of towels to clean the mess up. No harm, no foul," Marjani replied. "Or do you need something stronger to drink instead of a soda. You seem to be very nervous, more nervous than when we first met." Mentioning that, Marjani gave out a sigh. "Look, after thinking over things for a few days, I've decided I won't assert my kisses upon you. It's not fair to you or your lady. Besides, maybe I feel like I took advantage of you, in my excitement about the work you did on my fighter."

"About that," Connor replied fidgeting with his fingers. "Um, see, well, I came to tell you that, um, well, you did nothing wrong. Um, I talked to Holly...."

Marjani's mind went blank for a moment or two, as she just stared at Connor. The door to the mini fridge was still open, the cold air drifing down to her barefeet. It wasn't something she expected to hear. In fact, she just crouched down and exchanged her soda for a cold beer. She rose from the crouched position she had been in, and quietly went to take a seat at the small table twisting the top off of her beer. "Um Connor, why don't you get yourself a drink?" she said softly, before Marjani took a drink of her beer. Her mind was, well she didn't know where it went.

Ever obedient and feeling like anything may help his nerves, Connor went over to the refrigerator and got himself a beer, twisted the top and took a long swig. He then went back to the small table and sat back down quietly, across from Marjani, lost in his own thoughts.

Another drink from the bottle then Marjani turned her attention to Connor. "What happened with the conversation with Holly. Is everything alright? I am sorry I blanked out there for a moment." her voice quiet. She wasn't certain how things went and was actually concerned.

“Everything is fine,” Connor admitted. “We’re just friends now,” he told her before taking another swig. “It was almost like you told me. Time and space were too much.” He shrugged before taking another drink. “She actually suggested that I contact you. So, I did right after we finished. Probably couldn’t have if I waited much longer,” he admitted. “Nearly didn’t.”

This elicited a curious glance towards Connor. "And yet you did. Well, I did leave you instructions on how to contact me." The corners of her mouth turned upwards. "So if you didn't contact me, I would have done so. Just so you'd know that Talon was operating proficiently, and to well, to see how you were doing." She took another drink from her bottle then Marjani asked, "What made you decide to contact me?" her dark brown eyes looking into his dark brown eyes.

To her, his eyes were like the shade of smoky quartz. And she loved looking into them.

“Well, truth be told, I did it because Holly was prodding me to do it. I told her that you snogged me and then did again and well, she pointed out that you would not have done that and wouldn’t have told me to contact you if you didn’t mean it, so, I could not argue with the logic. Did not mean that I was not, well, scared out of my wits to do it. I, um, well, have never done it before. Always before, I had to be chased down by someone that I might be attracted to.” He took another large gulp of the beer. “But you know how to talk to me, I think. So, I wanted to tell you about Holly and that nothing you did was wrong, because it was as you said….”

He paused again heavily and said, “I owed you that and an explanation of my, well, behavior.” He drained the last of his beer, concluding, “I don’t drink often, but I think I need another.”

"Go right ahead the proverbial bar is open." Marjani responded quietly, and her eyes fill with wonder. He was brave enough to call her. And he did so with out a drink. She was impressed.

"I was quite surprised and glad you did call me. Truth be told I was getting ready to get into a fight if you were in trouble when you called. I feel you are someone valuable and someone to be valued." her cheeks darkening. "I don't know if I could call what I do as chasing someone. If there is the right chemistry or connection then, it happens, naturally, even if a person is shy." Marjani drained her bottle, then looked at Connor. "When you get another one for yourself, would you get me one as well, please?"

He nodded, got up, went to the refrigerator, and pulled out two more beers. He opened both and walked up to Marjani placing it before her. With a small nervous chuckle, he said, “Well, didn’t spill this one on you.”

"Thank you. Well now that has been settled, as to whether you and Holly are still dating. What will you be doing next?" pausing to take a drink of her beer. "As for spilling a drink on me. You didn't spill on me, I did the deed to myself," flashing a bright smile with a light laugh. "That was on me, most definitely."

Connor's face lightened and a small chuckle started but was followed by a snicker and then a small laugh. "Yes, it was. I was so mortified that I spilled on you and was so focused on getting you back to change that I saw nothing else," he admitted sheepishly. "As to what I am doing next," he shrugged. "I don't know. I guess there are a lot of variables to that question."

"Yes, there is." Marjani drained her bottle and went to get another one, "Well, you certainly have possibilities. At this time, you can watch and learn to find out what sort of lady you would like to go out with, and you gaining confidence in asking, someone." She opened her other bottle. She took a long drink then looked out towards the stars. "Tomorrow, we head back to Empok Nor, and I get to go out on another assignment, probably. At least I will be safely nestled in the proverbial arms of my Talon fighter, knowing that you used your great skills to keep me safe out there."

"I know," Connor replied, his eyes shifting downward. He looked hard at the bottle, took a gulp, and swallowed hard. "Another reason that I had to meet with you today...."

Marjani took another drink from her bottle, then walked over towards the couch to take a seat, and relaxed against the back of it, one hand outstretched. "Okay come have a seat and tell me what the reason was or is." She could feel the drink making its wa to all over, it was her third or her fourth drink. It must be her third drink, starting to take effect on her.

Connor took his bottle along with him, if for no other reason that to steady his hands and nerves. It gave him something else to focus on besides the beautiful woman before him. He sat down on the couch next to her but just outside of the touch of her arm. "Well, you were leaving tomorrow and well, I talked to Holly, and well," he fought for words and finally came up with, "I thought you should, um, well, know."

She smiled towards Connor, Marjani getting a bit misty eyed. "Thank you I appreciate that you have told me. I would like to ask something of you, may I have an embrace and a kiss? As much as I would like to ask you to stay the night I am not going to. It wouldn't be fair to you for me to ask." Marjani mentally counted how many bottles she had, oh it was her fourth one. Nope Marjani needed to stop there, she rose from the couch, to hide her burning cheeks. "Sorry" she murmured softly.

Well, it is now or never. Why is she being shy now? She was practically all over me before I told her about Holly. I don't understand. I do understand that she wants a hug and kiss. Isn't that what Holly wanted you to do? Isn't that what you came to do? To find out? So, stop waiting, Connor. Connor stood up without comment and hesitantly moved into Marjani's personal space. He took his left hand and brushed her cheek with it and before he could question himself, he leaned in and softly kissed Marjani on the lips.

Her eyes flared wide for a moment when he made the first move, then they drifted closed as her arms gently encircled Connor, pulling him closer to her. Enjoying this moment, just being here. She'd kiss Connor as long as he wanted to kiss her. It had to be where he was comfortable, and truth be told, she did hope she could kiss him once more, with Connor being free from guilt.

Connor's arms reached around Marjani, as they kissed. She could feel his beer bottle pressing against her back. After a few moments, he broke the kiss and said, "That's a more proper snog, isn't it? Perhaps I should put this bottle somewhere else?"

Marjani, her head was spinning as that was quite the kiss well in her own opinion. Normally Marjani was a devil may care person but, where Connor was concerned, she was feeling a little bit shy. And she didn't know why. Was it due to her truly liking him? He wasn't brawny, but she found him exceedingly attractive. He had just found out that he was no longer in a relationship with Holly. She didn't quite know which way this was going to be heading. Marjani was going to have to let Connor call the shots here. Oh heaven help me, where do I go from here?

Marjani finally realized she needed to answer him. "I-I think yes that would be a good idea. And that was a right proper snog, you are a good kisser, a natural." feeling her cheeks warm up again. Part of her mind was just laughing at her reaction to Connor.

Connor unraveled himself from Marjani and put the beer bottle on the table and then returned to Marjani and wrapped his arms around her again. "So, I guess you're stuck with me, assuming that you want to be," he told her. "Though, I don't know when I would see you again in person after tonight," he told her more morosely. "Depends on Pioneer, I suppose."

That right there, Connor's statement, kicked another part of her into gear. This was just not fair, just as he was stepping into becoming more confident. She thought over her years of life and looked at him. Mentally she sighed, him getting involved with her, her roving way of life.

Marjani gently extricated herself from Connor's arms and drew him towards the couch to where she sat down. "Connor I would say yes, however, I have to be straight with you. You have just found out that you are no longer in a relationship with Holly. And hence in that case, perhaps maybe you'll not want to leap into another relationship, right away. I do not want to toy with your feelings, far from it. Computers yes, are far easier to understand. Even machines are easier to understand than people."

Inwardly her heart was breaking, she could see herself with someone like Connor, maybe a little more seasoned due to life experiences. She began, after a brief moment."

"There is a human response after finding out a person is no longer in a relationship, such as for example you and Holly. It is called having a rebound. It is seeking out companionship, having the need to belong with someone after that connection you feel you had, is gone." She could feel her eyes become misty.

"It happens either consciously or subconsciously. You haven't had time to even deal with emotions that may come up after your mind processes the knowledge that you are no longer coupled with Holly. I've been in that position, of having been in a rebound situation. It didn't turn out well. I didn't allow myself a chance to grieve of the previous loss, and the rebound it caused me pain, as that person had used my vulnerability and when I found out, I went ballistic. Got into a fight, punched a higher ranking officer and I was tossed into the brig, as well as being demoted."

Marjani looked away for a moment, "I am not saying that would be what you would do. It is just me laying out the facts and my observations." She turned to face Connor once again. "I simply refuse to use you, to take advantage of your vulnerability." Marjani went quiet. Yes Marjani that's it, just drive a dagger in his heart. You are a cold-hearted woman, she told herself.

Connor's face went blank as he processed all the information that Marjani told him. Was he on a rebound? He had not had many relationships before but the facts did not seem to line up. Marjani had kissed him twice, or was it three times, and he did not mind it, as he told Zhara. Even Holly had encouraged this. They had not talked for a year and both moved on, though he had been loyal to her.

He faced Marjani and lightly touched her face with the back of his hand. "I cannot tell whether you are trying to protect me or protect you or both. Let me lay out some facts and then you can tell me what you think, OK?"

He removed his hand from her face and said, "I've been more than a little confused since I got to Pioneer. I came out here to prove to Holly that I could be in space for her. Yet, I did this without talking to her. We had not talked since we graduated the academy. Ensign F'rar, the Doctor, Counselor Zhara, and even you all pointed out, if Holly and I were still in a relationship, should not one of us have been talking to the other? I had a lot of excuses, I admit. I like clarity. But, why could I not call my own girlfriend, Marjani? After Holly and I started dating, I had no problem talking to her. Other women, yes, but not her. So why didn't I call her? I had 13 days of shoreleave to date and she told me that maybe on a shoreleave, we would get together. Thirteen days I did not call her."

Connor sighed. "And somewhere in between, I met you, Marjani. Can I tell you what that was like?" He did not wait, he just let it come out. "At first you, terrified me. You were too beautiful for words and your hair is just perfect. In a lot of ways, you reminded me of Holly, when we first met, but you were much more over the top. I wanted to run, especially after you kissed me. After all, I theoretically was still with Holly, right? I told you that I had a girlfriend, and you mostly respected that boundary. But, we went on your ship and we flew and I found that I could talk to you. When it was done, you kissed me on the cheek, which I don't still fully understand, but what I did understand was that I didn't mind it. I talked about it with counselor Zhara and she told me that before I proceeded with anything, I needed to confirm whether I still had a girlfriend in Holly. As Holly confirmed, I did not. So, I think, Marjani, I have been emotionally over Holly for some time. I just did not want to admit it."

He shrugged at Marjani, "I'm afraid that if there's a rule, I may follow it somewhat to the extreme. I never wanted to be accused of cheating."

Marjani's eyes went wide, hearing Connor's perceptions, his feelings. At first she could only nod, just hearing him open up like that, it was, amazing. She also was feeling frightened, so many "what ifs" could bubble up here.

Marjani reached out to touch the side of his face. "Oh Connor, I don't know what to say. I am scared, and yes I am trying to protect both of us. When I first met you, I was attracted to you. You have a beautiful mind and you captured my interest. I loved seeing your face light up when you spoke about taking care of my fighter, and fixing him up with your creativity. I am worried though, that this is too soon, but then I don't want to separate from you. I find you exciting to be around." Her words just tumbled all over themselves. "I probably am not making any sense. However, if we do get together, I do not intend on doing any cheating either. I have a flirty side, I would try to control it. What am I saying? Do you really want to be with someone like me? One who won't be coming home for a few days or longer? So many variables that could go wrong."

Connor leaned into Marjani's touch. "Exciting is not usually a word most people use to describe me. I don't think anyone has ever described me that way. I suppose it would be easier if you were on the same ship," he admitted. "But, I went a year without really minding Holly's absence." He laughed at himself. "That's probably not a great argument for you wanting to be with me but I do get involved in my work. And yes, there's a lot of variables that could go wrong. But every ship and every computer system could potentially run haywire if wires got crossed or something was disconnected. There are infinite possibilities where things could go wrong and most people ignore them every day because they expect it to be right."

He thought about that for a moment and said, "Maybe that's what we should do? Expect things to be right and they work themselves out? If you want, we could check with Counselor Zhara. I could be wrong. People are not computers, but I always hope they work similarly."

Marjani gave a nod, "Sort of flying by instincts, going by how a person feels. Sort of like those space butterflies we saw migrating. They had an instinct, and were following their own path. Okay so, no borrowing trouble, and we have a journey of discovery of learning about each other." she moved her hand to interlock her fingers with his. "Now what, Connor. What do you want to do the rest of the evening?"

Answering simply, he replied, "Enjoy it with you. Learn more about you and maybe get a couple of holos of us to see you when we're apart."

"I would like that very much, and maybe you can spend the night?" Marjani asked, chewing on the lower lilp slightly. Then something suddenly came to her mind. "Oh! I just remembered; we may be able to spend a bit more time than anticipated. I will need the Pioneer to get my fighter back to Empok Nor, unless I am called away from here. What do you think about that? Since my fighter doesn't have a slipstream system, I will still need the Pioneer's help to get back."

"That's great!" Connor enthused. "I would like more time together with you and maybe I could introduce you to Zhara. She has a nice dog named Sophia." He blinked a couple of times. "You do know that we're doing this all backwards, right?" he asked with a short laugh. "I mean, we have not even had a formal date and we ended up at your quarters.... We could take a small walk, talk, and come back. I mean, I'm still in uniform," he told Marjani laughing further. "I don't care if you don't care. I just...the whole thing is just...well, funny."

Marjani gave a little bit of a laugh then her eyes widened. "Well, to be truthful I felt like we were on a date when we took the fighter out for a test flight. It was romantic, seeing that red dwarf, the space butterflies, and going around Aquil. We shared something incredible together." She looked down towards her hand where it was still interlocked with his "But that can't be counted for a formal date, so yes a walk together, in the arboretum. Or even go down to the planet below and walk along the beach near the water. We might catch the sunset. Want to do that? It's not too late. We can transport down there and enjoy the last night of shoreleave."

"Whatever you want to do," he told Marjani, leaning in and giving her a small kiss. "I just don't want to do it in my duty uniform. Also, are you sure that you are OK to go anywhere? I don't know what you weigh but you did have almost four alcoholic beers." Concern was written all over Connor's face.

"I weigh a hundred and fifty pounds." She looked at her unfinished beer, which was half full still. "And it was 3.5 beers. While I get ready for our date, I will be hydrating myself to help flush out the alcohol. I will be alright. Now, go dress in something that you will be comfortable in and just in case we get a little bit wet? The air of Aquil is Tropical in nature, so maybe a bit humid."

He mused audibly. "Hmmm. Short pants and short sleeves, then? Probably need a device to keep away bugs. So, should I pick you up here or meet you somewhere?"

"Come pick me up here, as we are going on a date." Marjani replied then leaned in, giving him a kiss. "I'll see you in a few," she whispered softly.

"Alright," Connor told Marjani, giving her another kiss. "I'll get cleaned up, then and be back in a jiffy." Reluctantly, he let go of her hand and headed for the door. Once there he gave her a wink and said, "Can't wait!"

Marjani could feel her heart leap within her bosom, and felt her cheeks warm up again. He was so charming and so irresistible. She felt like she could melt just right there, especially when he smiled. "I can't wait either," giving a wave towards him. When the door closed behind him. Marjani gave out a rather girlish squeal. Oh gosh she's got a date! She quickly started to get ready and also getting herself hydrated to counter the alcohol she had imbibed.

Connor exited hurriedly, concerned that if he did not leave soon, that the date would not happen. There was something about Marjani. He did not know what, but he was definitely going to find out. With a secret smile on his face, he made his way to his quarters so he could prepare for his date.
