Timeline: MD013 1000hrs
"Order completed." Came the feminine reply of the Computer.
"Thank you, Computer." Hermia said.
"Thanks are not required, but appreciated, Doctor." The Computer replied.
Josh waited until the file came up.
MEDICAL RECORD: Llaxia
Chief Petty Officer Llaxia possesses two unique theta wave prints. Hypothesis is that the second print is that of her sister, Jedeli. In Llaxia's youth the sisters were trapped in an old mine, and Jedeli, the older sister terminated her own life in order for Llaxia to survive. Hypothesis is that by a as yet unknown method, Jedeli's life force was Transferred to her younger sister. DPD has been ruled out by Lt. Vura, Chief Counsellor, USS Pioneer.
Josh reread the file several times. In all his years as a medical officer, he's never personally come across anything like this. He's read stories about cases like this.
He called up his files on cybernetic bodies. He had successfully build cybernetic bodies before, as an experiment...in case of an accident where it could be used to save lives.
The problem was always, creating a positronic brain.
The doctor returned to his lab, and started creating the body, in case Starfleet Medical allowed the procedure.
Now that Josh had gone, and she knew the procedure was possible, Hermia got to work on the proposal. She knew it was unlikely she'd get approval, but she had to try.
