Mission:
Episode 6 - Old Habits Die Hard
Location: O Fannagain Quarters
Timeline: MD005 1430 hrs
The ordeal was over, and Quinn walked through the doors of his quarters. He saw Enya sitting on the sofa. He was hot and sweaty, and in desperate need of a shower. Enya saw him coming into the room. "Daddy." She called out to him, but staying on the couch. "You like dirty, ewe." She said. Pausing her show she was watching.
"Thanks, I missed you too." Quinn said, as he started to look for Ameri, then he saw her. Those passionate eyes of hers, had him lost in a haze. He felt so lucky to come to her, every night. He felt torn, does he go over to his daughter does he go over to his wife or does he just take a shower.
"I missed you too Daddy." Enya said, keeping her distance from him. He looked really bad, and probably smelled a little. He appeared to be sweating a little bit as well.
Ameri was so happy to see Quinn she didn’t care what he looked or smelled like, she moved quickly across the room and wrapped her arms around him. “I missed you so much!” She just held on.
"Heard about your promotion." Quinn said, as he pulled her close, and started to kiss her. They started to passionately embrace one another, almost forgetting about Enya. A barfing imitation sound broke the silence room.
"Trying to watch a show, gross." Enya said with an annoyed look on her face.
Ameri laughed and then looked in Quinn’s eyes.“You look okay,” she said softly. “But I need to know, are you hurt anywhere, her hands touched his face and ran down his chest.
“Mom!” Enya called out. “Seriously! I am right here!”
"She's right my love, I am okay. The doctor, has already checked me out. Let me take a shower, then we can replicate a meal together at the table, and maybe a watch a movie later on. Then later tonight, we can spend time together." Quinn softly whispered to his wife, so he did not upset Enya, with her parents flirting with one another.
“Your right,” Ameri whispered back and then smiled. “I can’t wait!” She watched as he headed into take a shower and hurried into the kitchen. “Replicated meal?” She started quickly gathering things, he was getting real food after all he had been through.
Quinn hopped in the shower, as the sweat and filth washed away, he closed his eyes. He thought about the capture of Velora, and the rescue of the hostages too. He wondered how the True Way were able to infiltrate the cardassians so easily. It was a mystery that needed to solved.
Quinn wasted little time in the shower, he started to change over in his room, as he could smell the aroma of food. He quickly got dressed and walked over to his wife, putting his arms around her. He did not care if Enya complained. "You did not have to go through all this hassle baby." He said, hugging her from behind.
“I wanted too,” she leaned back against him. “I know you hate replicated food and I am not a fan either.”
"Seriously guys." Enya called out, as she walked over to the table area. She could smell the plate of food that her mother had prepared, it smelled incredible.
"Where's my hug sweetie?" Quinn asked as he looked to Enya. He reached out with both arms. Enya just sighed, and got out of her chair to give him a big hug.
"You could have came to me." Enya said.
"Where is the fun in that?" Quinn asked as he hugged on both of his girls. Before walking over to the table, and taking a seat near Enya.
Ameri put the food on the table and took a seat, looking at the two of them. “Let’s eat, I don’t know about you two but I am starved.
"how did it feel to be back on the bridge?" Quinn asked Ameri, as he started to dish up his plate. He could only imagine, how exciting it must have been for his wife.
“I didn’t realize how much I missed it!” Ameri said with a smile. “It was like being with an old friend again. 8 am happy to be back. It was an interesting start.”
"Now with Lieutenant t'Hwersuil back from his mission, you will have to talk to him, about your bridge duties. I would not mind seeing you on the bridge." Quinn said, with a big smile on his face.
Ameri’s eyes twinkled. “It would be an honor to serve with you, Commander.” She took a bite of food from her plate. “I need to practice calling you that.”
Quinn tried not to smile, but it was funny. "I'm not sure I can get use to you calling me sir or commander." Quinn said, as he looked to his lovely wife.
“It sounds awkward,” Ameri admitted. “But it would not do for me to call you anything else.” Her eyes wandered over him as she watched him eat. She was so grateful to have him back.
"I'm just gonna call you Dad!" Enya said, as she decided to chime in. She was happy to see her parents happy. Mom had been moping around, with Dad on assignment.
"Agreed." He reluctantly said. As they started to eat the meal that Ameri cooked for them. The scene starts to fade.
Ameri looked from her husband to her daughter and smiled to herself. She was back in science again, Quinn was home and life was good once more.
