Mission:
Episode 7 - Home Again
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD005 1300 hrs
Before she got busy with learning about a new ship, Jayde wanted to see the doctor and get her physical taken care of. She knew that sickbay could get busy, so she set up an appointment and headed to sickbay.
She walked in and calmly waited for the doctor.
Richard exited his office and spotted the woman in sickbay. He had been engrossed in a PaDD full of data sent to him by intelligence. Things didn't add up and he was feeling more and more like this whole fiasco was indeed government-sponsored genetic research.
"Oh, hello," the physician said with a broad grin, "I'm sorry to make you wait, I'm Doctor Richard Ballston, how can I help?"
"It was no wait," she said. "I am Mira Jayde." She bowed, Vulcan-style. "I am newly arrived and wish to get my physical."
Ballston nodded and motioned towards the biobed, "welcome aboard Lieutenant." He motioned towards the biobeds and began walking that way, "did you have a good trip here?"
"Thank you," she said, settling herself on the biobed. "It was uneventful." A brief smile crossed her face. "I would call that good."
"I would have to agree," Richard replied with a smile. He began his scan with his tricorder and tapped a few controls on the biobed console, "Have you had an opportunity to visit Impok-nor Lieutenant?"
"Only as I passed through on my way here," she said. "If I have time during shore leave, I will rectify the situation."
The physician nodded as he listened to the beeps and sounds that came from his tricorder and looked at the display behind the bed, "if you can find the time Lieutenant I will be hosting an opportunity to see an Azzian home and ask questions about their society and government."
"That could be quite interesting," she said. She was not as familiar with the Azzians as she was with other cultures. "Is there a specific reason you are hosting such an event?"
Richard smiled as he lowered the tricorder, "there is." He nodded as he continued, "the Azzians are striving to become part of the Federation." "It has only been seven years since the Azzians have emerged from the temporal anomaly in which their entire solar system resides and there are several misconceptions about their culture and government." "Lie'halla Va'hassi is the Ambassador for the region and happens to be bonded to me."
"And so the open house to educate the public," she said. "I will make the time."
Richard nodded, "thank you." He stepped back a little and nodded, "you are fit for duty Lieutenant, whether you choose to come or not."
Jayde nodded. "Thank you, doctor. I would like to attend, even though I am already clear for duty." Her expression was calm, but her eyes were reflecting the humor she intended with her statement.
